Come join us as we move and build strength and endurance to some fun and groovy music. We will start off with a good morning stretch and get the blood flowing with light low impact movements. Part of the class will be done standing and the other half seated. The health benefits of movement and light weight training is essential and vital during older adulthood. This low-impact exercise class incorporates seated stretch, standing or seated strength training, along with balance and coordination movements all while grooving to fun, inspiring music! This class is free because of the generosity of Scan Health Plan. Please bring a caregiver if you need assistance. Registration is required for all participants and their caregiver. *If student misses 3 classes in a row, they will be removed from the class to allow for those on the waitlist.

Youth Swim lesson classes are 25 minutes in length. Classes meet once a week for 6 weeks on either Saturday or Sunday.  There is a variety of different age and skill levels available. The City of Los Alamitos only hires American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors to provide the highest quality services and safety for the community. Please review pool rules prior to visiting the pool.Please refer to the swim lessons descriptions below prior to registration:  Parent & Me: Introduce your child to fun in the water! Skills include blowing bubbles, kicking, holding onto wall, assisted or unassisted floating on front and back, and water safety skills. Ratio 1:6, ages 6m - 3 yrs  Tiny Tots 1: This class is for children ready to be in the water without a parent. Skills include: bobbing, kicking, assisted and unassisted floating, introduction to arm strokes. Ratio 1:4, ages 3 – 4 yrs Tiny Tots 2: This class is for children ready to be in the water without a parent and who are ready to be more independent. Skills include: bobbing, kicking, exhaling underwater through mouth and nose, unassisted floating on back, assisted, or unassisted floating on front, gliding, and arm strokes. Ratio 1:4, ages 3 – 4 yrs Level 1: This class is for beginners who have little aquatic experience, to help students feel comfortable in the water and enjoy the water safely. Skills include: water adjustment, bobbing, blowing bubbles, kicking, assisted or unassisted back and front floating, and gliding. Ratio 1:5, ages 5-12 yrs Level 2: This class is for beginners who feel comfortable in the water. 2:00 PM - 2:25 PM    Learn-to-Swim Lessons - Level 4 - Sunday
Youth Swim lesson classes are 25 minutes in length. Classes meet once a week for 6 weeks on either Saturday or Sunday.  There is a variety of different age and skill levels available. The City of Los Alamitos only hires American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors to provide the highest quality services and safety for the community. Please review pool rules prior to visiting the pool.Please refer to the swim lessons descriptions below prior to registration:  Parent & Me: Introduce your child to fun in the water! Skills include blowing bubbles, kicking, holding onto wall, assisted or unassisted floating on front and back, and water safety skills. Ratio 1:6, ages 6m - 3 yrs  Tiny Tots 1: This class is for children ready to be in the water without a parent. Skills include: bobbing, kicking, assisted and unassisted floating, introduction to arm strokes. Ratio 1:4, ages 3 – 4 yrs Tiny Tots 2: This class is for children ready to be in the water without a parent and who are ready to be more independent. Skills include: bobbing, kicking, exhaling underwater through mouth and nose, unassisted floating on back, assisted, or unassisted floating on front, gliding, and arm strokes. Ratio 1:4, ages 3 – 4 yrs Level 1: This class is for beginners who have little aquatic experience, to help students feel comfortable in the water and enjoy the water safely. Skills include: water adjustment, bobbing, blowing bubbles, kicking, assisted or unassisted back and front floating, and gliding. Ratio 1:5, ages 5-12 yrs Level 2: This class is for beginners who feel comfortable in the water. Skills include: Kicking, unassisted floating on back and front, combining arm and leg movements, and gliding. Ratio 1:6, ages 5-12 yrs Level 3: This class is to introduce strokes and endurance. Skills include: combined leg and arm actions with breathing, introduction to backstroke, side breathing, and elementary back stroke. Ratio 1:8, ages 5-12 yrs Level 4: This class it to improve stroke technique and endurance. Skills include: front crawl, back stroke, side breathing, treading water, and additional stokes.
